Oscar Anthony T. Andres Jr. '77

Few fellows deserve the label "Upsilon's gift to the female species".  Being retired, Jun is much more than just that.

I wish I could call him a regular fellow but that would be an understatement.

When I met Jun a few years ago we instantly hit it off.  Who wouldn't?  Here is a brod that understands bros in general, their faults, their good sides, not so good sides - the whole package.   Jun can indeed walk with crowds and always keeps his virtue.

In the numerous occasions we had together Jun imparted many things that I took to heart.   Jun appreciates team players being one himself.  He even expressed his appreciation for me as such.  He also loves life, celebrating each occasion with such zest.

In a word, I describe Jun's company as FELLOWSHIP.  The pure, sincere unadulterated kind.  Not just over beer or anything intoxicating but the mere company of a brother like Jun raises a cry against any Upsilonian's loneliness.

Between the laughter, the conversation, the banter that happens almost instantaneously when Jun enters the room. He brightens up the place with his positive vibe that appeals to the brothers looking forward to his brand of fellowship.

Being human, Jun also had his share of misfortune and trials in life.  What bewilders me is his resilience.  Despite all, he overcame.  He is a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother to us all.

Jun's adventures - traveling the world, living abroad, the hardships he had to endure, the trials he had to face inspire me.  And yet, Jun makes no secret of his faux pas.  He is what he is, lock stock and barrel, imperfections and all.  He openly acknowledges his humanity.

Here is a man that made many mistakes went to hell and back, "lost and started at his beginnings" and made good.   He is very much loved by his family and endeared to many of his friends and our bros.

Jun also is a bonafide mafioso, his unconditional loyalty to bros closest to him like "The Godfather" Tor Budy '61 is unquestionable.   They chewed a lot of dirt together and Jun recognizes Tor's contribution to the betterment of his existence as a brod and person.  Loyalty.  I admire that in a person.  That's the kind of brod I want to be with when facing the fiercest enemy. Jun will leave no bro behind.  That is a fact.

I wrote this for Jun after an incident he asked me to help him with:

"Never abuse a person's kindness. Never take one's humility for weakness. There is night. There is day. Like Shakespeare wrote "the evil that men do is interred in their bones". Fear the dark side of men. Some are darker than the caverns of the deepest abyss. Fear the macabre wrath that the humble and kind can unleash. Fear what a man can do when pushed to the edge. For this is the human condition.''

Jun's philosophy is simple.  Smile, work hard, live life, party like an animal.  Simple.  With Jun, its like what The Cars once sang in the early '80's...... "Let the good times roll!"...
A brother to all, a man's man.  That is what brod Jun Andres is all about.

Thank you senior brod for the memories, the laughter and the many lessons in life you imparted to me.  You made me learn more than you actually will ever realize.  You inspire me to be a better person, to be stronger in trying times and live life to the fullest.  Life is a party and we live it, we cherish it.

See you in the sun and soon bro.  I shall tell you even more.  Let the good times roll.......
